This coffee is produced by Esayas Beriso in the Boku area of Hambela Wamena, Guji, Ethiopia. The farm is located at very high altitude, often exceeding 2,300 meters above sea level, and focuses on small-lot specialty production. The coffee is sourced and distributed internationally by specialty importers such as The Coffee Quest, who work directly with producers on experimental and differentiated processing methods.
The lot is processed using an anaerobic natural method, where harvested cherries are sealed in oxygen-limited containers for a controlled fermentation period before drying. This approach represents a newer processing style in Ethiopia, distinct from traditional washed or natural methods, and is used to create clearly defined, traceable microlots for the specialty market.
